To address the challenge of providing clients with real-time information and interactive dashboards on forest product exports, lumber harvesting, and pricing, COFI and FreshBI utilized a blend of Power BI and Python technologies.
Initial Problem
COFI's clients required timely access to accurate exports, lumber harvesting and pricing data presented in dynamic dashboards for informed decision-making. However, manually compiling and analyzing this data proved to be labor-intensive and time-consuming for COFI.

In collaboration with COFI, FreshBI implemented a comprehensive solution:
Automated Data Retrieval and Processing: FreshBI developed a customized Python script to extract data from a Canadian lumber statistics API. This script efficiently cleansed and structured the data before storing it in COFI's SQL database.
Database Integration: The processed data was seamlessly integrated into COFI's SQL database, ensuring its accessibility and reliability for downstream analytics and reporting tasks.
Interactive Dashboard Creation: Leveraging the robust capabilities of Power BI, FreshBI designed and implemented interactive dashboards. These dashboards provide COFI's clients with intuitive interfaces to explore and analyze lumber harvesting and pricing data effectively.
